I'm giving it 5 for how good it is and how nice the owner is. I'd give it a 4 due to their limited and inconsistent hours! Fresh and very tasty sushi which is very reasonably priced.

It was a very annoying experience. The chef is either racial discrimination or rude in his own way. I did not get any sushi after waiting for 40min, while another two groups of people arrived and ordered later, but they all got their food and left earlier than me. After 1hr, he said:" Ok, I am going to prepare your rolls." That moment I totally lost my patience and left with a small set. I don't think it worthy to argue with him, but I will NEVER go there again.

It only took 1 hour to make my simple sushi combo. Even there were only 2 customer in the shop. A great place for time consuming.

I moved out of state two years ago, and every time I come back I try to make it here. Oh, how I miss regular access to great sushi! The baby octopus salad is amazing.

I'm not sure I *want* my sushi to be all that crazy. I was inspired, in line with the same, to get a much more fancy out-there roll that I would otherwise have gotten -- the Dragon Queen. I figured that I had to go a little wild. That, added to a bowl of miso makes for a hearty-feeling meal. I was satisfied, and very, very full. This isn't an upscale sushi joint, but it's a well-intentioned, cozy place -- very small, but just fine for a quick stop in for lunch. I eat my lunch on the late side, so there wasn't any wait. It's not necessarily a place I'd seek out again, but if I found myself in the area, I'd likely try another roll or two.

I was turned on to this place by a good friend of mine who dined here very very often. It's funny because she doesn't eat raw fish and only gets cooked rolls haha. I always make fun of her about this because I can't understand why anyone would go to eat and spend money on sushi, but doesn't like the goodness of raw fish. I'm glad I trusted her taste buds when she decided to take me here. First off, the sushi chef/owner is always so friendly and sweet. Secondly, the fish is fresh tasting and of good quality. Third, the sushi chef has flavorful and unique special rolls, with and without raw fish. Most of the rolls that I have tried here are good. I'd just stay away from deep fried rolls, but I don't like this anywhere. What is even funnier is that my favorite roll here is actually the mushroom roll! Best mushroom roll I have ever had. Marinated sweet shiitake mushroom roll with fish eggs and sriracha/mayo sauce on top. I have to eat my words now, since I gave my friend so much crap about going to sushi places and ordering non-raw fish rolls haha. It's okay though, I can admit I was wrong and happily eat my mushroom roll. They get pretty busy during prime time lunch and dinner hours, but the wait is worth it. Go and get your sushi here if you are in the area!

I really liked the sushi here. It was fresh and light. Be aware of the hours because they are only open for lunch and dinners. The they we went it was absolutely empty but the sushi chef was very nice and accommodating. I only wish they had more combination choices. Overall, a good sushi spot.

The sushi here is by far the best, and the prices are lower than what you'd expect for such quality. The hours are kind of strange because I've only ever seen one employee working there, but he is friendly and he knows how to make some choice sushi. But I DO recommend calling your order in because sometimes there's a long wait with only the one chef working.

I'm a huge sushi fan, and I love to eat here whenever I can get the chance. The prices are very reasonable, and the fish is as good as it gets. What I love most about this place is the nigiri. A few sushi places I've been to charge around $2.50-$3.00 for a piece of tuna or salmon nigiri, and when it arrives, the fish is sliced disappointingly thin. Not so here. The nigiri is $1.99 max (cheapest I've found so far) and sliced a little more on the thick side. A real bargain if you ask me. The fish is also very fresh. Not sure what the other reviewers are talking about, but you won't find overpriced nigiri here. I dare you to find a place with cheaper nigiri for this quality. Definitely try the Healthy roll if you're not a fan of deep-fried stuff or mayonaise-based sauces. As good as it gets.

For a small place it's as good as it gets. Everyone is correct, the owner/sushi chef is super cool and excellent at what he does. I've never had anything that wasn't 100% fresh. Everything comes out the way you would expect it with high quality. Way better than that Little Tree a few miles away in Royal Oak. I suspect the menu would be more extensive if it were busier. Give this place business and pass it on to a friend!...and p.s. I like that it's called Crazy Sushi, gives MH a bit of quirkiness. hah!

stopped by today as I have always drove by this place, and had always been curious if this is some 'crazy' business calling itself 'Crazy Sushi'. The place is sandwiched between national chains. Went in, and aaah, like the ambiance, the posters, the Japanese lanterns, umbrella. Ordered the soft shell crab sushi combined with house salad, oops, they're out of the hauz salad so I opted for the crab salad, and downed it with a can of diet pepsi...overall like the ambiance but not "crazy" after all...maybe I'll go back for the second time so we'll see. Hope I can be converted the second time around...and be 'crazy' about the place...

I'm generally a Noble Fish girl, but every once in a while I like to "run with scissors" and check out the competition. Tonight I tried Crazy Sushi, and can honestly say that it's nowhere NEAR taking Noble Fish's place in my sushi-loving heart.. I had a bowl of miso soup and three rolls -- tuna/avocado, yellowtail scallion and eel cucumber. The miso soup was twice the price of Noble Fish, and not nearly as tasty. I like my fermented soybean soup to taste more like fermented soybeans than vegetable stock. Also incredibly annoying was the fact that they did not bring my soup before my meal. They brought the soup WITH the meal. The rolls were fair to pretty good. By far the best was the tuna avocado, followed by the yellowtail scallion. Eel cucumber was nothing to write home about. I was expecting slightly bigger rolls than I received for $5.25 each, but managed. I was charged 50 cents for extra ginger. When my rolls arrived, my ginger portion seemed to be about the same size as everyone else. I asked the guy "this is EXTRA ginger?" He said "you want more"? Damn straight I want more. If you're going to charge me for it, at least make it LOOK like you made an effort to give me something for it. One minor annoyance was the fact that ALL of their beverages are canned and bottled beverages in a refrigerated case. You're selling SUSHI, guys -- a little hot green tea wouldn't kill you, would it? Would I go there again? Probably. It would largely depend on whether I was eating on somebody else's dime. Otherwise, I'll only go there again if Noble Fish is closed.

I finally made the discovery of Crazy Sushi- I haven't found too many great sushi places- but this place certainly falls in my top 5. My usual role: spicy salmon- excellent!! Great place to order out-sushi ;))

This place is beyond amazing! It's a little pricey but its worth it! You can't go wrong with anything here.

This place reminds me of a restaurant in a video game. It has about 6 places to sit and a little old man behind the sushi bar. So awesome. He made super sure we got enough wasabi and ginger and that everything was up to par. It was delicious and I highly recommend trying the mushroom roll.

Love this place! Good & cheap sushi. The quality of the sushi is good, the rolls are big for the cheap price that you pay.

I enjoyed my Sushi from Crazy Sushi more than I did from the other sushi place I tried earlier in the week. They have some tables, but really they are for waiting more than anything else. I would recommend just calling in your order and going to pick it up. You're not going to go here and chill with your friends. My spicy tuna was good, but could have been a little spicier, they were a little soggy too, but not that bad over all. Price was good too. All and All, I think I'll go here more over the other place I reviewed, Little longer drive from my work, but not so bad.

I've been here like a zillion times, so I've made it to regular status. Lee, the sushi chef, is a super cool dude; if you make it there during some down times make sure get to know him. He offers a great selection of rolls for a really good price, so he's probably gonna have something you like and make it in a kick-ass manner. The rolls have a generous portion of fish compared to the competitors, all at the same or lower price. The only drawback is that Crazy Sushi is mostly a one man operation, so you may have to wait a bit. If you make it there, be sure to try the giant spicy tuna roll (the best roll I've ever had) and/or crazy love. Actually every thing there is pretty amazing, so if you want great sushi at a good price, Crazy Sushi is your place.

Nice sushi bar in Madison Heights. The rolls are made when ordered and were very fresh and tasty. We did not order any nigiri as I am very particular about my sushi. I consider Noble Fish to be my choice for simple, authentic, sushi and nigiri at the best price in metro Detroit. But back to crazy sushi--if you are in the area and the lot is not full, it is worth the visit. If it is busy, the wait can be lengthy (like the line at noble during certain hours). However, for being off Dequindre at 12 mile, it is the best in the immediate area and I would recommend to those looking for sushi in Madison Heights.

I like this little place. I get carry out on occasion and I think they do a good job. I will return.

Blech. Every roll was way too sticky and sweet and doused in sauce. The miso soup tasted old and the tofu was mushy and slimy. Not a fan.

I tried Crazy Sushi today finally....it was a place I would drive by all the time and notice but the hours were always weird and I never got a chance to go. I must say I have had better sushi, it wasnt too bad but it could have been better. I would like it a bit more if they opened around 11 instead of 1130 too. Overall I would probably return.

Always checking out small Sushi places when on the road. This is one of those rare finds that makes traveling a little more pleasurable. Really good quality Sashimi (tried the 5-piece sampler) and Crazy Roll with spicy tuna, crab and lots of other tasty stuff. Tiny place, don't expect ambience - catering to take-out for most of it. But a good stop for a quick bite when you are in the area.

Crazy Sushi is almost impossible to find. It is a tiny place with a small bench to eat inside, but mostly takeout business. The food however is GREAT. The sushi chef seems to know what he's doing (Korean?) although the certificates for sushi chef on the wall are from Japan. The seafood on display is amazingly fresh as you would expect. The sushi chef at Crazy Sushi makes an incredible giant roll called "Crazy Love", that is baked and topped with spicy and sweet sauces dripped over the 9" long roll. I'm not sure what's in it, but it tastes great. A nice surprise and great place in Madison Heights for sushi.

I love this place. Their sushi is excellent, and the guy that runs the place is really cool. If, however, you're planning on getting carry out for lunch, order a good 45 minutes ahead of time. There's normally only two people (max) working there so it takes forever to get food around lunch time. But normally it's worth the wait. It's priced at about what you'd expect from a sushi place, but it's definitely a hidden gem.

it is ok for sushi, i wold return again it just not high on my list.... sushi was good and portion size was good, didnt care to wait fhe for the 30 mins for him to make 3 rools and the time to fry the shrimp for a double double roll.

It's called Crazy Sushi and it's located in a strip mall in Madison Heights across from a KFC and a Taco Bell and next to a Burger King. You'd have to be crazy to try it, right? Wrong. I don't know the owner's name, but he's awesome. He's also the only chef there so make sure to call in your order unless you have some time to kill. Well worth the wait and the prices can't be beat. A must-try for sushi lovers in Madison Heights or surrounding. Also try the house salad.

The inside is very festive and inviting inside I will give this place at that. As for sushi goes the fish is not as fresh as I would have liked. Soggy with that hint of fishy smell. Also had to wait a while for the three rolls ordered. Probably won't go back.
